Stampin’ Up!® Potions & Spells Bundle: CWK Card #3

You’ll love my previous post with fun pics from the Potions Party on August 24th here at this link! Once you fall in love with all the cards and decide to make them yourself, you can find individual blog posts for each card/project.

• Most of the time spent making this card is coloring with blends, so if you enjoy that it will be FUN!
• Be sure to glue the “slime” onto the back of the front fold-down flap so the “ugly” side can be covered on the inside with the green piece.
• I chose strips of the DSP Packs for Brights and Regals on the front fold-down flap since Stampin’ Up!® hadn’t offered the Halloween kit in the new Scrapbooking Brochure at the time.

Make sure to let your Memento ink dry totally before using Stampin’ Blends to color the bubbles. (Ask me how I know!)  It takes awhile to create the card, but it’s worth it for the WOW!

Here’s a closeup of the pop up cauldron (I changed up the dimensions on a “shopping bag” pop-up I had seen somewhere awhile back and then just added the cauldron on the front and to the inside back. I don’t really think it needs the second set of bubbles on the inside back of the cauldron…I like just the slime on the back and both slime and bubbles on the front. 

Here’s my template for the bag/cauldron. Do all the vertical scoring first, then do the horizontal 1/2″, then cut out the wedges/angled in to make tabs for bottom as shown. Then attach as video shows.

Measurements:

• Thick Basic White cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 2 1/4″ x 7″.
• Gorgeous Grape cardstock: 3″ x 8 1/2″, scored parallel to short side at 1/2″, 3 1/2″, 4″, 4 1/4″, 7 1/2″ and 8″, then scored parallel to long side 1/2″ up from the bottom; plus scraps for bottle and inside of second bottle; plus optional 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ stripe on top flap
• Granny Apple Green cardstock : 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ plus scraps for 4 slime diecuts and a bottle
• Crushed Curry cardstock scraps for inside of bottle and 2 cauldron handles
• Pumpkin Pie cardstock (optional) for 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ stripe inside
