CWK Alternative card 1 of 8 for Paper Pumpkin Sweet Sunflowers August 2022
If you didn’t get this AWESOME kit, I’m sorry! (If you didn’t, you can use this as a template and create a similar card with DSP.) If you did get the kit, just cut the card bases in half at least so you can make the most of this GORGEOUS kit! This card used the back half of the cardbase that I used the front of on Card 5. I further cut this back half down to a 4″ x 4″ and a 1″ x 4″ piece for the bookbinding fold.
Adding the Splendid Day Bundle and some retired but easily substitutable Fresh Fig and Blackberry Bliss ribbon really spruced up this back half of the kit card base. I made 3 of this design.
#1 Measurements:
- Back of Kit card base cut into two pieces sized 4″ x 4″ and 1″ x 4″.
- Blackberry Bliss card base: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″.
- Basic White cardstock: 4″ x 4″
- Ribbon: 17″ ish
#1 Instructions:
- Cut the Kit’s sunflower/leaf floral card base in half, then cut the back half (with just the leaf and Blackberry Bliss flowers) into two pieces sized 4″ x 4″ and 1″ x 4″.
- Adhere the Kit pieces onto the Blackberry card base with liquid glue or Seal.
- Stamp greeting on front in Blackberry Bliss.
- Wrap ribbon through the inside of the 1 1/4″ section and tie knot or bow as desired.
- Adhere the 1 1/4″ section together with liquid glue so it glues the ribbon also.
- Diecut pieces from Splendid Stems Dies per photo.
- Adhere bottom half of large leaf over watercolored leaf, leaving ends free.
- Wrap the small leaf diecut around/through your ribbon, cutting apart if necessary, adhering bottom half of each piece.
- Stamp leaf on white inside with full strength Mossy Meadow for the outline, then use solid stamp to fill in by stamping off and turning slightly 3 times for fullness. (Solid stamp intentionally doesn’t match outline.)
- Stamp greeting inside if desired.
- Add embellishments wherever you want.
Notes about all 8 alternatives:
- It seems EVERYBODY LOVED THIS KIT and wishes we had refills!
- I was truly inspired to create several alternatives since it was so easy to double/triple/quadruple the kit by cutting all 9 card fronts in half and using the fronts and backs separately.
- I also cut up all the envelopes and made multiple cards using those pieces as focal points on additional card bases from my Stampin’ Up! stash.
