This “No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin March 20 Alternative: Yellow Boots” card features multiple pieces from the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit. What a wonderful bonus to receive both the No Matter the Weather stamp set and the bonus Spring Splash stamp set in the kit! At the perfect time, I might add! With all the delightful diecuts, colors and stamps in the kit, just adding silver Foil-Edged Note Cards and Envelopes , a label die and some twine completes the soothing look.
This optimistic card conveys the message we certainly need now. Handmade cards sent to those we care about reminds them we’ll get through this pandemic TOGETHER…even if it is 6 feet apart!

Measurements:
- 17″ coordinating twine from the kit or from your stash (I thought the retired Garden Green/White twine brought out the dark striped strip nicely.)
- From this Paper Pumpkin kit:
- 3/8″ x 5″ strip leftover after cutting out the 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece from the green envelope and using it for another card.
- Stitched Nested Labels Die: 1 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ cut out of a scrap of Soft Saffron cut down to about 2 3/8″ after cutting off the top point.
- Back half of the gray/green card stock from kit or Whisper White 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ for inside layer.
Instructions:
- Cover boots completely with Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Shimmery Crystal Effects and set aside to let dry completely, then fussy cut the white off the bottom of the boots so they settle better into the grass.
- Cut up the green envelope and set aside a 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece to use on another card. Carefully piece 2 strips together to get the 3/8″ x 5″ length.
- Out of Soft Saffron card stock, diecut a Stitched Nested Labels die to 1 3/4″ x 3 1/4″, then trim off the top point.
- Stamp greeting on Soft Saffron in Shaded Spruce.
- Stamp grass on card stock in Pear Pizzazz and color grass tops with Soft Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker and add a few grassy lines with Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker.
- Adhere the green strip on the right side of the card front.
- Wrap the twine around the stamped card layer and tie a bow, then adhere that label flat to the card front.
- Add Dimensionals to the back of the boots and attach to the card front.
- Stamp grass in Pear Pizzazz ink on the inside layer and use Aqua Painter to “ground” it with a line of green.
- Color in the grass tops with Soft Saffron Marker or ink pad and Aqua Painter.
- Add clear drops from the kit as a beautiful finishing touch.
- Send the card to someone who needs some cheering up!
