This Magnolia Lane Storybook Fold card was inspired by Cindy Brumbaugh of CindyLeeBeeDesigns.com. I had never tried this fold until I saw Cindy’s Stampin’ Up! Storybook Fold Technique video on You Tube. I made a few changes based on my preferences, as I’m sure you’ll feel free to do also!
To me, this gorgeous card just oozes Southern hospitality, elegance and refinement!
Combining such beautiful Designer Series Paper with a really fun fold and a little stamping & Blends equals a stunning card!

Instructions:
- Cut and score card base per Measurements section (and video).
- Cut and score folding mechanism inside: 5-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ cut and scored as shown in video:
- With 5-1/4″ side at top of trimmer- put left side at 1″ and cut down from 1” to 7-1/4” to create two 6” slits, turn the paper and do this on the other side, too. Then, turn paper so that 8-1/4″ side is at top of trimmer and score in between the slits at 1″ and 1-3/4″ on both sides. You will also score in between the slits at 4-1/8″ and outside the slits to the top and to the bottom of card base, you will score in 2-1/2″ from each end.
- Cut the two side pieces of 2-1/4″x 5″ DSP individually (to be safe) or place back to back to cut both at the same time (with design you want to show facing up and facing down (as shown in video.) You
- Cut the 4 small scrap pieces left after making the “u” shaped side to fit your empty spaces. (Cindy has ¾” x 1 ½” on her instructions, but they are ¾” x 1 ¼”)
- Fold the pink inside layer of the card properly, (see video) then burnish (HARD but carefully) all the folds.
- Adhere the two DSP sides, then fill in the 4 small pieces.
- Since it was a storybook fold, I used a Petal Pink Blend (or marker) to draw in some “pages” on the edges of the book inside.
- On two small white pieces, stamp greeting in Mossy Meadow, and stamp magnolias and leaves in Early Espresso, then color in with Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow Blends and outline with Pool Party Blends to make them pop.
- Adhere two white pieces to two green pieces, then mount to the “book” in the middle of the inside.
- Put glue around the perimeter of one end of the pink layer and mount it with even borders to inside card base ONLY on the one end.
- Fold the card base over to make sure everything fits properly, then open the green base back and add glue to the perimeter of the other side of the pink insert. Then attach it to the other end of the card base with an even border around. (See video.)
- Fold over green base and make sure everything fits properly. (If you use liquid glue you can wiggle a little to get it in place properly.)
- Use Stitched Nested Label dies to diecut the white label out of scrap.
- Use Stitched Nested Label dies to diecut the pink label out of the middle of the Petal Pink layer.
- Mount the Petal Pink layer to the card base, then mount the DSP on top of it.
- Stamp greeting in Mossy Meadow and stamp leaves in Memento Black ink (or Early Espresso if you’re careful with the Blends). Color leaves with Mossy Meadow Blends.
- Mount white label to pink label with dimensionals.
- Wrap ribbon around both labels and tie a knot or bow (depending on how much ribbon you want to use), then adhere label to card base.
- Give the card to someone special!
