Wanna see my Paper Pumpkin monthly craft kit alternatives for October 2020: Joy to the World? Great! I’ll post more this month. This card is stepped up slightly from the kit instructions, but anyone with this kit can make it with just the kit contents! I sacrificed one of the envelopes from the kit so I could use the inside liner as a focal point for one card design. You can make multiple cards with this design using kit contents or you can use a Designer Series Paper (DSP) like the Cherry Cobbler one from the package of Christmas paper in the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle on sale for a limited time. (Item #158396 in my online store.)
Instructions:
- Fussy-cut off some of the large white border surrounding the kit flower if you want to make it look more realistic. Then cut off the small flower with bud and leaf to use on top.
- Cut off the envelope flap and use it to make strips to decorate the inside of the two (or more) cards.
- Cut the main body of the envelope liner into 2 pieces approximately 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ each and adhere one to the portrait card base with vertical gold lines. (Save the other for a second duplicate card.)
- Cut the textured white square into 2 pieces 3″ x 1 1/2″. (Save the second one for a duplicate card.)
- Adhere the gold “peace” to the textured layer with liquid glue. (If you want to make four cards like this instead of just two, I think the “love” greeting would also be lovely, but you may have to switch the smaller and larger flower positions for them to tuck into the greeting well.)
- Determine positioning for all your elements and adhere one at a time based on layering.
- Attach the small flower with glue dots to the underside of the white label, then attach label with Dimensionals. Add your large flower with Dimensionals, overlapping the white layer.
- Cover flowers in Wink of Stella.
- Tie twine into small bow and attach with a rolled glue dot.
- Cut apart unused French & German greetings and used them as gold accents glued directly to the card layer tucked underneath the flowers.
- Stamp greeting inside and add a small printed strip from the envelope flap if desired to bring a touch of the outside in.
