Country Floral Lane Clutch Card #4
(Note: Just this first introductory paragraph repeats on blog posts for all 6 Country Floral Lane (CFL) cards.)
How fun is this Country Floral Lane DSP? If you’re also ready to jump into Spring and Valentine’s cards, the Country Bouquet bundle and the Country Floral Lane Suite will get you in the mood! Just switch the sentiment on my card designs to Get Well Soon, Thinking of You, Congratulations, Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary or Happy Valentine’s Day…these cards work for almost any occasion!
Juli Davison used this fold with the Rings of Nature paper and I decided to totally change the look by choosing different DSP, embossing, diecuts, etc. Fun!
Cutting off the front “peak” with the Basic Border die, then cutting again with the die moved up allows you to add the little peak on top on the inside. Then use the offcut of the first peak on the bottom of the inside layer.
Measurements:
- Balmy Blue cardstock base: 5 ½” x 10 ½”; scored at 3” and 7 ¼”
- Basic White cardstock: 5 ¼” x 4”; 3 ¼” x 1 ¾” ish to diecut and scrap for stamping leaves and heart
- Mint Macaron cardstock 2” x 3 ½” ish to diecut
- Petal Pink scrap to punch heart from
- Country Floral Lane DSP with blue hearts: 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Instructions:
- Use the Cane Weave embossing folder on the 3” bottom flap, paying attention to which side will be up when folded.
- Glue blue heart CFL DSP to 3 ¼” top flap, paying attention to which side will be up when folded.
- Cut peak on flap with Basic Border die, leaving just a bit of space (⅛” ish?) from the bottom.
- Move die up about ⅜” ish and cut again.
- Stamp and adhere the inside layer.
- Diecut the front mint and white pieces with the Fabulous Frames dies.
- Stamp the blue heart and mint leaves then punch them out and adhere with Dimensionals to the frame diecuts.
- Add Dimensionals only to the bottom of the layered diecut, making sure the peaked top flap can easily tuck in and out of it.
- Glue the top leftover “peak” on the inside top peak, then glue the bottom offcut piece to the bottom of the inside layer.
- Add embellishments if desired. (You could choose either the Iridescent Pastel Gems or the Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins)
