CWK Paper Pumpkin Alternatives: January 2022 Kisses & Hugs. (CLICK PHOTO for more photos and details.)
The photos in the quad pic above showcase my alternative designs for the January 2022 Kisses & Hugs Paper Pumpkin. All four cards are also shown and described in closeup photos below.
The card fronts in the photo above show the texture I added to the Paper Pumpkin kit’s Blushing Bride & Vellum hearts by embossing them with a Dotty Hearts embossing folder from Stampin’ Up!’s 21/22 Annual Catalog. I also added a Flirty Flamingo bow, some gold foil hearts diecut using the Sweet Hearts Dies then finished it off with the kit’s sparkly rhinestone. I preferred splitting the Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo colors into two different cards instead of combining both colors onto one card.
I chose to feature ONLY Very Vanilla, Flirty Flamingo and Gold for the above card’s colors. So, I flipped the kit’s arrow over to the white side, ran it through the Timber Embossing Folder, covered it in Versamark ink, then used gold embossing powder with a heat tool. Any kind of wood-grain look embossing folder would add great texture even if you don’t want to emboss in gold like I did.
As you see above, just switching the kit’s sentiments from “Love You” to “Friend” changes who you can send this card to!
I saw Rachel Tessman with StampYourHeartOut.com do this fold above and loved it, so I added my own twist by changing the decorations. Dotty Hearts embossing folders add wonderful texture to the kit’s hearts…as shown on the card above. I chose to use non-Valentine’s Day sentiments to extend the lifespan of the cards. I used the Sweet Hearts dies for the gold foil hearts and added the sparkly embellishment from the kit.
I needed a baby card for a friend’s new granddaughter and thought this would be a fun twist for the Blushing Bride card base above.
LOVE the richness of Blackberry Bliss combined with gold! I saw Tami White use this color combo on a totally different card and had to create my own version pictured above. Sweet Hearts dies, the Dotty Hearts embossing folder and some retired (yet irresistible) ribbon make a beautiful card, don’t you think?
The duo above shows how I textured both Blackberry Bliss bases with a Dotty Hearts embossing folder. When I cut apart one of the kit’s Very Vanilla cards it made two opposite cards (above) with an inside XO heart for one base. Underneath the photo below I explain what happened with the inside of the second base.
I traced around heart from the kit and saved it as a template for later. Then I cut out an extra inside heart from Very Vanilla for the second Blackberry Bliss card base, then stamped the XO from the kit’s stamp set in Versamark, then finally gold embossed it to look like the base from the kit.
