This Lily Impressions DSP horizontal gatefold card’s Monet-inspired paper brings bright impressionistic images to life. The background even looks textured to resemble a real canvas. I’m totally in love with it, so you’ll be seeing more of my cards featuring it even after it (sadly) retires when Sale-A-Bration is over on March 31st.
Everyone’s an artist with Lovely Lily Pad’s reversible images that allow you the freedom to express yourself.
No worries about lining anything up since the water lilies aren’t symmetrical. Combine the coordinating stamps, dies and DSP and you’ll find endless possibilities to keep your creativity afloat!
Measurements:
- Pretty Peacock card stock cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 2 3/4″ in from each end.
- Melon Mambo card stock – 2 pieces each cut to 2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″, then diecut the middle of each
- Whisper White card stock scrap for greeting
- Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside layer
- Lily Impressions SAB DSP – 2 pieces each cut to 2 1/2″ x 4″, plus optional leftover strips 1/2″ x 4″ for inside
Instructions:
- HINT: If you make multiples of this card, you can cut each sheet of 12″ x 12″ DSP into 12 pieces for 6 cards. Then cut up the leftover strips into 12 pieces for the inside of the 6 cards.
- Diecut the stitched oval out of the middle of one Melon Mambo piece and another shape (I used a stitched rectangle) out of the other piece. You’ll use the oval on this card and save the second shape for another card.
- Stamp the front greeting on the white oval and diecut. (Or vice versa if you prefer.)
- Adhere a piece of pink paper (with holes in the middle) to each front flap.
- Adhere the DSP on top of the pink paper on both flaps.
- Adhere the pink oval (glue only half of it!) to the right panel.
- Add SNAIL to the back of the white oval, then randomly make loops with the metallic thread, sticking them to the SNAIL.
- Pop up the white oval with Dimensionals and attach to the pink oval.
- Stamp the greeting on the inside panel with Pretty Peacock.
- Stamp off using Melon Mambo ink on the flat side of the lily stamp, clean the stamp, take the stamp off the block and flip it over to stamp full strength Melon Mambo ink on the raised line side. (They won’t line up…just stamp freely!)
- Stamp off using Pretty Peacock ink on the lined side of the wave stamp on one side of the card next to the lily. Then flip the stamp around (top wave becomes bottom wave) to stamp off and repeat on the other side of the card.
- Adhere white layer and small strips to inside of card.
